Been dreaming of Paris but got no enough cash to travel? How about skiing in Swiss Alps or roaming around the streets of Hollywood? No worries dearies as you can now travel the world in just a day! Yup! You read it right. You can take as much as thousands of photos with your favorite iconic sites like Eiffel Tower, Palace of Versailles, Acropolis of Athens, Windmills of Holland. It’s just too many too mention. Thanks to Window of the World!
Located in Shenzhen, China, is a theme park full of replicas of world icons all over the world. Here you can see around 130 replicas of famous sites in which all continents are well-represented.
How to get there?
You have to first travel to Shenzhen. If you are travelling from Hongkong, you can visit my other blog post detailing on how to get to Shenzhen via Hongkong: Click here.
Once you alight at Lo Wu Station, take Metro Line 1 and get off to Shijhiechuang Station or known to be as the Window of the World Station. It would take 45 minutes and it costs 5RMB.
From Lo Wu Station, take Bus 1 or Bus 101 and alight at Windows of the World. Other buses that stop there are Bus Numbers: 70,113, 324, 328 and 329.
Since we got a package tour from Hongkong to Shenzhen China, a shuttle bus picked us up at the China Immigration and dropped us at Window of the World. Since visa is very hard to obtain, I suggest for you to book an agency to process everything for you. Here is the contact number of our tour guide in China (Lisa Chan +8613428708317). However, note that there are too many cons if you book with a travel agency. See my future post about this one.
How much does it cost?
Admission fees are as follows:
Adults and Children above 4.9 feet – CNY 180
Children Between 3.9 and 4.9 feet and Seniors between 65-69 – CNY 90
Child under 3.9 feet and senior citizen above 70 years old – Free
Evening Show (after 7:30pm) – CNY 60
Package tours usually do not include entrance fees. I highly suggest that you buy your ticket yourselves. Why? Because the tour guide asked us to pay HKD360. Yup! It’s almost double the actual price. Though we paid in HKD, 1 HKD= 0.84 CNY which means we still paid more than what we should pay. Yup! I just realized it now. If they insist, show them the a screenshot of the Window of the World official website.
On Weekdays: 9:00-22:00
On Holidays: 9.00-22:30
Recommended Time for a Visit:
Due to a very limited time allotted by the travel agency, we only have two hours to tour around a 118-acre park. Was that enough? Definitely NOT! We’ve only checked a few of the attractions there. L The park actually offers a number of activities like ski, snowboarding, 4D movie and even shows at night. So the best time would be one whole day.
The park has more than 100 tourist attractions to visit. Hence, you can opt to rent a small cart so that you can drive on your own and explore the park.
