Happiest Place on Earth: Hongkong Disneyland

From our exquisite and amorous trip in Macau, we spent our 3rd day in Hong Kong in the happiest place on earth — Disneyland! There is something magical in this place that even though I have been here twice, there is still an urge that brings me back to this place again.

How to go there (Mass Transit Railway MTR):

  1. From Tsim Sha Tsui Station, ride the Tsuen Wan Line towards Tsuen Wan and disembarked at Lai King Station.
  2. From Lai King Station, ride the Tung Chung Line towards Tung Chung and disembarked at Sunny Bay.
  3. Transfer to Disneyland Resort Line towards Disneyland Resort. Here, you can see mickey mouse hand rails, windows and statues.
  4. Walk for a kilometer towards Hong Kong Disneyland.

When I went here last 2009 with my family, we rode a tour bus going to Disneyland; hence I was not able to ride the Disneyland MTR. Auuuhh 😦 So yeah, I suggest for you to ride the MTR to have a total magical experience.

Hong Kong Disneyland (HK Disneyland)

We bought our tickets months before our scheduled flight as it is cheaper and it will save our time from queuing in line. One day pass costs HKD499 or approximately PHP2,794.40. This one day pass allows you to try all the attractions as many times as you want.

The park opens depending on the day but mostly it opens at 10:00am and closes after the fireworks display at around 9:00pm.

Originally, HK Disneyland has four themed-parks —Main Street, U.S.A., Adventureland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland —but has expanded to three additional themed lands namely Grizzly Gulch, Mystic Point and Toy Story Land. Since my boyfriend and I have not tried the new attractions yet, we chose to prioritize the three. For popular attractions such as Space Shuttle and Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, they have this so called “Fast Pass”. You can skip the queues by having this pass. Don’t worry; it’s absolutely free! All you have to do is to insert your entrance ticket pass to the Fast Pass machine (normally located at the entrance of your desired attraction) and you will be provided with a ticket. Look at the return time displayed on it and go back on that attraction on the return time stated. Again, once you’ve got your fast pass, you don’t have to stand in line.

Mystic Point

This land portrays an uncharted rain forest surrounded by mysterious forces and supernatural events. The site features Mystic Manor, home of Lord Henry Mystic, a world traveler and adventurer and his mischievous monkey, Albert.

Be part of the movie Toy Story Land and catch Woody, Rex and Luxo Jr here. Be thrilled with another roller coaster ride which speeds back and forth on a soaring U-shaped track called RC Racer. For a light adventure, you can ride the Toy Soldier Parachute Drop.

Adventureland

This is commonly known as the Tarzan’s Treehouse. Don’t forget to  ride the Jungle cruise wherein you will be entertained by Hippos, Zebras, Giraffes, Elephants, Gorillas, Snakes and other wildlife creatures. The available show here is the Festival of the Lion King.

Fantasyland

Here is the home for the most awaited Fireworks display as this is where the Sleeping Beauty Castle is located. This is the place where kids and young at heart will be dazzled by Cinderella carousel, Flying Dumbo, Madhatter Tea Cups and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh but my favourite attractions here are “It’s a Small World”, “Mickey’s PhilharMagic” and “The Golden Mickeys”.

It’s a small world is where you can ride on a whimsical boat and pass through a joyful congregation of singing children from around the globe. It is also said to be the happiest cruise ever sailed. The beautiful facade is also picture worthy. 🙂
